Econda vs. Google Analytics

Google Analytics is the most widely used web analytics tool to date. Over time, data protection has become increasingly important, and the question has arisen as to whether Google Analytics is privacy compliant. A privacy compliant alternative to Google Analytics is econda. But what makes econda different from Google Analytics? Some differences are as follows:

Probably the biggest difference between Google Analytics and econda is data privacy compliance. Google Analytics no longer counts as data protection compliant in some countries of the EU, as it violates the general principles of data transfer according to Article 44 of the GDPR. The reasons for this are that the servers of Google Analytics are located in the USA and the personal data is thus transported to a third country, the USA, and stored there. Google Analytics stores data for a maximum of 25 months. After 12 months, however, the data can be heavily distorted. In terms of data storage, econda has no limit.
